Carmen Martinez was born and raised in South Sacramento, California, and graduated from Sacramento State with a B.A. in English, and a minor in Art Education. She is pursuing her teaching credentials and Masters in Education at UC Davis.
To Carmen, being an educator is to fully support youth and their families within and beyond the classroom. Therefore, she is dedicated to serving marginalized communities and advocating for youth resources, educational equity, and transformative justice. Carmen has committed her time to local grassroots organizing since she was in high school, and is passionate about empowering young people.
