Sarah-Michael is from Sacramento and is passionate about serving her community and promoting racial and social justice. Over the years she has held leadership roles in various social change efforts. She was a lead volunteer for Sharing God’s Bounty soup kitchen in Arden Arcade for nearly 13 years, helping to nourish people with hot meals. She is a co-founder and former community organizer for Black Women United, a nonprofit established in 2017 to elevate and empower Black women through the annual Black Women’s March. And during her final year of college, she served as President of Black Student Union.
Before coming to Youth Forward in February 2019, Sarah-Michael worked in nonprofit housing and health-care organizations. Sarah-Michael holds a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Business Management minor from Linfield University.
